Green Berets Training

by GOT

While the most elite in Special Forces operations are considered the Green Berets that may soon change because of the waiting period being null and void. The Green Berets will still be the toughest of young soldiers but the Green Berets will be encompassing many soldiers who have never been in the field. While many believe this will be of great advantage to the Special Forces operations, others believe that this will not be of an advantage and will hold no bearing at all. And there are the select few (mainly those who had to wait three years before becoming a green beret) who believe this to be a bad idea.

There are special requirements to enter the Green Beret Training and that is unwavering regardless of the three year wait period being exhausted. The Green Berets use a scoring system prior to enabling anyone to enter this group of elite’s training program. In order to be considered to enter the training of the green berets, individuals should be able to do 100 sit-ups and 100 pushups in less than two minutes each. The two-mile run should be completed in less than 13 minutes to be considered. If individuals can show that they are able to do the above, then their score will enable them to be considered for among this highly elite group of soldiers.

Soldiers most likely will want to pursue the special operations groups of any designated group of the armed forces so they must be in tip top shape to be considered. Once selected for the group, then the soldiers will be sent to Fort Bragg to begin the most extensive training program of their life.

Green Beret training is like no other. The three week training program consists of running, swimming, pushups, pull-ups, running obstacle courses as well as developing not only teamwork skills but leadership skills. It is highly focused on the special operations that may someday be at hand yet very training-oriented on developing the physical soldier of the green berets.

Training then takes on a very different meaning for soldiers. After the three week course, six months will follow in a training called the Q-courses. The Q-Courses are the Special Forces Qualifications Courses and the courses last for a grueling six-months and is said to definitely separate the boys from the men of the Special Forces recruits. And it certainly separates men from realizing their dreams of becoming a Green Beret.
